Welcome to your Journey Beyond Proposal

I’m so excited to share the general outline and proposal for this 9-day, 8-night experience through the heart of South Africa, crafted with your spirit, your joy, and your celebration in mind. From cultural immersion, community service, and rest, every detail has been thoughtfully designed to create a journey that’s as meaningful as it is memorable.

While the accommodations and experiences have been carefully selected, I’ve kept the specific names private to honor the time and intention poured into curating this journey. Below, you’ll find a general overview, beautiful visuals, and optional add-ons to personalize your experience even further.

🗓 Proposed January Travel Window: January 1–14 (Select 10 days in order to include the 24 hour travel day.)

This flexible window allows you to select the 9-day, 8-night stretch that works best for your schedule, and even celebrate your birthday in South Africa if you choose. I was able to secure preferred rates during this time to make that option possible.

If you choose to move forward, we’ll walk through the more detailed itinerary (catering to the group size, once confirmed) as you continue to build it out, explore your exact lodging preferences, and make sure every element reflects your vision.

Day 1 - Depart from USA

Upon receiving your final itinerary and having the final group zoom, you'll be more than ready and equipped to start the journey to South Africa!

Day 4 - Coastal Transition to KwaZulu-Natal

Welcome to another province within South Africa, KZN! You'll be escorted to the airport for a short 1-hour flight, followed by your driver taking you to a coastal welcome lunch on the Indian Ocean. You'll then check-in to your apartment/hotel on the beach, which includes a seaview balcony and living room! Spend the day exploring the oceanfront or your local host would love to assist with helping you find whatever your heart desires on this chill day.

Day 2 - Arrival in Johannesburg

Your host will greet you upon arrival and assist with currency exchange. A private shuttle will be provided to take you to your accommodation for a rest day after the long travel day.

Day 3 - Understanding South Africa’s Past

Fully take it all in, with a private guided day tour Of Johannesburg & Soweto. Listen and learn, in order to understand South Africa's transition to democracy post-apartheid. This will be a great introduction, in preparation for the rest of the trip!

Day 5 - KwaMashu Township + Zulu Culture

Your private local guide will take you on a tour of the largest township in the area, KwaMashu. You'll interact with local change-makers, meeting their family and friends, while enjoying local food.

If time permits, there are several hidden small museums and a cultural village to visit that are operated by locals. Learn history from the ones who experienced it.

Day 6 - Giving Back + Uplifting Youth

Your driver and host will take you a bit further west to an orphanage and child care center that is strictly supported by donations, operated by a lovely couple who receive zero government assistance. Get to know their story, assisting the staff to host a lunch and ice cream party sponsored by you! This is included in your cost. Share a meal, connect, and spread some joy through the community.

Day 7 & 8 - Glamping Safari & Rural Zulu Community

Enjoy the scenic 3-hour drive to the 'bush' in Zululand. Stop by local sites to learn about local traditions. You'll check-in to one of the most beautiful places on the planet for your 2-night stay. Embrace the stillness with 2 game-drives daily, chef-prepared meals, and a starlit celebration by the fire. Meals and drinks are included.

Day 9 - Departure

After a sunrise safari, a beautiful breakfast, and farewells to the 'bush', your driver will transfer you to the airport for your departure back to the states. Begin your journey home with a full heart.
